George Rogers Clark

George Rogers Clark
   -Boy of the Northwest Frontier

George Rogers Clark, was the brother of the well known William Clark (known for the “Lewis and Clark Expedition”)
He was the one that inspired William to be a frontiersman.  George was a successful frontiersman, as well as a leader in the army!

When George was about eleven years old, he went to his cousins, along with many other relatives and friends.  As the adults were eating, (back then they ate before the kids.) So they were waiting, and saw a shadow thing on the wall… They realized that it was Mr. Warren, the man that had bought some horses from George’s uncle.  He was sneaking against the wall, as if he didn’t want to be seen.... So they sneaked after him, and he walked into the room where George’s uncle kept the money that he got from the horses he sold to Mr. Warren… “You spying little puppies!” a deep voice boomed.  Mr. Warren stood in the doorway with the money bag in his left hand and the biggest, meanest, looking pistol George had seen in his life! George dropped his head down, and head butted him in the stomach.  The man doubled over and dropped the pistol and money bag! George grabbed the money bag, and his cousin grabbed the pistol and threw it out the window.  Then two of the boys ran to get help, and George and one of his cousins ran through the hallway. (George had the money bag) then they found a secret passage, and as George was going through his cousin, who was behind him got caught by Mr. Warren, who threw him aside only thinking of the money, and who had it! (which was George)  So George is running down the passageway, and found the door which opened and closed, in a frightening amount of slowness.  Then he locked it, and thought “wait, what if Mr. Warren is going to the exit of this secret passageway? does he know where it is? ...what if he has a partner that is holding up the adults, so Mr. Warren can take all the time he needs?”  But he decided to go to the exit anyway! As he ran out, he saw all the parents running to him! “are you ok?” they asked, “did he hurt you?” “No, i’m fine! it was a little scary though.” George replied.  “Thank goodness!” exclaimed his father and mother.  It turns out that Mr. Warren did have a partner, who locked the parents in, and was holding up the servants.  But the two boys went and unlocked the door!
THANK GOODNESS!!!
